  • EMILADE (EMMY)

Emmy is a presumed female 26 Year old Mitred hybrid (mitred x white eye?). She’s lived in her last home for 18 years, so initially had a harder time adjusting. She is choosy about her people, doesn’t like other birds (at the least, no sun conures or similar. She’s ok with larger birds) and really wants to find her person to snuggle with. Emmy initially preferred men. This preference probably still stands, but she isn’t handled here. She will hang out with the free flight cherry-heads in the aviary and usually hangs out on top of her cage, running away from us when we try to handle her. She loves horror films (especially the gory ones), TV show music, and wags her tail when she’s happy. She’s been plucked on her bottom half for a long time and will likely never regrow those feathers. We don’t care that she prefers not to wear pants. She’ll have to meet potential adopters a few times to build a bond.

Emmy is cleared for adoption, but will have to remain on a small dose (0.1mL meloxicam twice daily) of pain medication for the remainder of her life.

  • HURLEY

Kala and Hurley are a fun pair of 3 year old green-cheek conures. These birds are closely bonded and can be quite protective of one another. Hurley is a bit more reserved, whereas Kala enjoys a scratch on her own terms. They were previously caged separately so they are more tame with their person but so far they’ve been caged together until we can get to know them a little better. They enjoy flying around the room, watching movies (without birds!), and they like to see you do chores. They’re great to watch on their own but they’d really love to be a part of a family WITHOUT other birds ideally. They can be rather mean to others out of defensiveness so care will have to be taken.

  • HOLLY & TRUDEE

Holly and Trudee are a 25 and 12 year old mother and daughter Cherryhead pair, respectively. They have lived wild in the small-bird aviary, and don’t want to be handled. They are devoted to each other and seeing them snuggled up together is heartwarming. This pair is a super thing to watch just acting like parrots, and that's the life I want for them. You must have a large free-flight aviary.
