Make a financial contribution
Obviously, it costs quite a bit of money to operate the rescue. There are food bills, veterinary bills, cages and carriers, toys, perches… All the things these birds need. Then there’s maintenance and utilities, which we have optimized to be more environmentally and financially sustainable.
We also have to pick some birds up, and help volunteers with gas costs for home visits. Iowa Parrot Rescue doesn’t charge adoption fees. Every month, we need $1,500 for medical costs alone. Please consider supporting the rescue with a tax deductible monetary donation.

We gladly accept any and all donations. We are a 501(c)3 tax exempt public charity, and donations are tax deductible. We mail receipts for tax purposes to all donors. Our donors are the financial lifeblood of the rescue and all donations are gladly received.

Donating to the Endowment Fund ensures the future of the rescue is stable and our birds always have a safe and clean place to be.
The Iowa Parrot Rescue Endowment Fund was established in March of 2013 with one object in mind, to generate enough income to keep us running for the future. Money donated to this fund is not available for general operations, and will be utilized to pay a manager for the coming years when Mike is no longer able to do day-to-day operations.
